WBC lightweight world champion Mikey Garcia (39-0, 30 KOs) is very confident that he will upset the odds by moving up to the welterweight division, by twelve pounds, to challenge IBF champion Errol Spence (24-0, 21 KOs). Garcia captured world titles at featherweight, super featherweight, lightweight and junior welterweight.

Either Robert throws in the towel at the first sign of trouble or Mikey takes a knee and says he couldn't recover from the body shot like Spence's last fight. Waste of everyone's time.

Hats off toe Robert Garcia. I too do not recommend that fight at any stage in his career, but what if he wins. Spence has looked great, but like GGG he looked vulnerable against Vrook. I’m not taking anything away from Spence, because brook was world class and every fight won’t be easy. Just stating what I observed. I also think it possible that Mikey doesn’t like dealing with the pressure of being undefeated and would rather loosing his 0 to an opponent that most would count him out against rather to continuing to wonder if he is really amongst the best.

Credit to Mikey if he goes through with this shame on Mikey if he “goes another direction” after all this talk.

I just hope the folks willing to shower him with praise for talking about this fight will be willing to be critical if the fight doesn’t happen and it’s clear he never wanted it.

        We’ll see.

U really think that Mikey will go through all of the calling out, training and all the rest, only to punk out and take a knee? No way he quits. The fight will be really entertaining for as long as it lasts.

Can we really hate him for that? Can we use it against him?
If one moment he wakes up and realized “oops they’re right, maybe I should take my time” is he a duck then?

            Just asking

If Mikey says something like “my family doesn’t want it. My handlers don’t want it. I want the fight badly but for now I’ll listen to them. 2-3 fights down the road I’m sure it is still going to happen.”

I don’t think we can hate him for that. Especially if his next fight is for a belt at 140 again or against Loma.

Yes because he’s talked about it for so long dating back to before Lipinets IRC. It will have just been lip service if he doesn’t sign for Spence.

It's sort of a win win for Mickey. If he does end up loosing or even stopped, everyone will agree it was too much of a size disadvantage and he can continue his career relatively unscathed by the loss.
