Comments Thread For: Michael Conlan Hopes For "Huge" Stadium Fight in Belfast

Belfast's Michael Conlan (8-0, 5 KOs) made a successful return to the city by beating Adielson Dos Santos by decision on Saturday night - his first fight on home soil as a professional - and the 26-year-old enjoyed the occasion so much he is already eying up a possible stadium fight at Casement Park, home of the Gaelic Athletic Association.

Why would it be too soon, Did he get cut the fight was not draining. He could fight another bum in that time, what happens if he ever holds any title he be fighting once a year. He is not going to make it

Conlan is hardly ready for a stadium after that performance!

Conlan is hardly ready for a stadium after that performance! Conlan's lack of boxing development and his under-estimation of dos Santos' skills led to a closer fight than expected. Conlan seemed nervous and a bit distracted by the hometown pressure. His punching accuracy and his footwork were not up to the task, so he struggled to deal with the pressure that dos Santos brought. Conlan's defense really needs improvement, and his lack of concentration shows he is still a beginner as a pro boxer. Back to the gym for Michael Colan, return to basics and learn to focus on the tactics and strategy you practice in the camp before the bout. Listen to your corner!

His last fight was like watching paint dry and not a nice colour either.

A closer fight than expected? Conlon dominated and won every round. Yeah, he got hit with a few, but that's to be expected.
