Comments Thread For: Lennox Lewis: Wilder Deserves 60-40 Split for Joshua Fight

Lennox Lewis doesn't think Deontay Wilder deserves the 50-50 split Wilder now says it'll take to make his heavyweight showdown with Anthony Joshua. The former heavyweight champion contends Wilder is entitled to more money, though, than Eddie Hearn has offered him thus far for their much-discussed heavyweight title unification fight. Lewis feels a 60-40 split in favor of England's Joshua would be reasonable for a fight that figures to be very profitable for everyone involved.

No he doesn't. Wilder is not a draw and his resume is garbage... so a little bit worse than Joshua's.

      He deserves 30%.

Who gives a **** what people think the split should be.

Wilder PUBLICALLY ACCEPTED a flat fee of $15m. You don't accept a purse if you are not happy with it.

Did he change his mind when the contract came through the post or what?

This is what I said back when negotiations first began. None of this flat fee nonsense.

Every time Lewis does a article about Joshua you can sense the jealousy . He’s pissed the U.K. public didn’t get behind him like they are Joshua

Wilder gets paid 3mill tops a fight and he’s being offered 15 and still turning it down . Greedy Kent should jump at the chance to take the belts and become the main man

If wilder managed to win he could call the big money shots

                Makes sense.

Parker got ~33%. Wilder holding the last title left for AJ has a greater bargaining chip and backing than Parker.

Lewis is calling it how he sees it, without bias. Sport needs more people sharing these sorts of views.

Watch all the AJ fanboys start attacking him.

Lennox Lewis knows what's going on: Joshua don't want that work! Everything that was done by Hearn, was done with the intention of creating an obstacle for this fight! "Fight Whyte first," "Flat-fee offer," "One-way rematch," etc., etc.! Basically Lewis is trying to tell Joshua: "This is NOT a good look!"
