Comments Thread For: Hearn: Madness To Do Joshua-Povetkin With Wilder Looming

Eddie Hearn, promoter for IBF, IBO, WBA, WBO heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua (21-0, 20 KOs), is very nervous about his fighter's upcoming bout with Alexander Povetkin. According to Hearn, he was motivated to finalize a deal between his man and WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder (40-0, 39 KOs).

Eddie answers it all here by saying Joshua want's it as another learning fight. McCracken is on record saying they he wanted one more before Wilder. They ducked it. Hope Pov sparks him out now

I've said this for months. Hearn isn't ******. He knows fully well that Povetkin has far more tools in his arsenal than Wilder but the Wilder fight will bring in more wonga cause the casuals haven't followed Povetkin as closely. Look at the cv's of both Wilder and Povetkin, Povetkin's is miles ahead. Wilder only has a puncher's chance against Joshua albeit a very good punch. Povetkin would have crushed Wilder easily had Team Wilder not chickened out from that fight.

Yeah it ls madness for Hearn have AJ fighting Povetkin a fighter who will be 39 when they fight and be 4-5 inches smaller then AJ

I like the fight but let’s not pretend AJ doesn’t have all the advantages going in

Never mind. The Alabama Windmill will still have his sports hall fights to fall back on.

Don't blame Joshua or Thomas Hearn. P is the WBA mandatory not there's. So blame them.

This stuff flies over there across the pond, but this is AMERICA. We don't have a touch of the downs in all of us like the British do. Shots fired. The British are the biggest morons in the world. Go ahead, talk about McDonald's and hamburgers. I'm a vegan. I probably weigh less than your fat and busted excuse for a girlfriend. Keep using those fake accents you started using after USA mopped the floor with you after the revolution. The "B" in British stands for BETA. Suck my glorious American *****.
