Comments Thread For: Wilder Manager: Povetkin is Dangerous Fight For Joshua

Two years ago, WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder was scheduled to make a mandatory defense against Alexander Povetkin in Moscow, Russia. Before the fight could come off, Povetkin tested positive for a performance enhancing drug and the contest was canceled. Povetkin has found his way back, built himself up, and is now going to challenge WBA, IBO, WBO, IBF heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua in the fall.

AJ ducked the fight because he didn't want to get hit with Wilder's infinity gauntlet! Lol.

If Anthony doesn’t get enough sleep the night before and falls asleep in the ring, it could absolutely be dangerous for him against the guy who was floored by a glorified journeyman last time out.

Joshua has been scared ****less. This has been a clear duck by all accounts. The WBA mandatory was requested to WBA by Eddie Hearn to avoid the Wilder fight. Very disappointed.

AJ the boneless fears Wilder.. Atleast Fury is trying to represent the U.K.. however ill advised.. but he's willing to fight the Bronze bomber for however long it lasts until Wilder hits his ass with Thanos Infinity Gauntlet! AJ will never be the same after he fights Wilder.. even the hulk didn't want no more smoke with Thanos.. so I Understand AJ!

Bro, I feel like Eddie Hearn side piece because when I want to dump him and turn my back on him he twangs( plays) with my head. Lol

No he has embarrassed us throughout this negotiations there is no denying that. I have never seen a person so happy that a million dollar deal has broken down which suggests he is cool with things. Watch this video. I still think that Shelly has not helped or at least given us a viable escape route.

What I didn’t like hearing is Wilder and Joshua were talking privately via email, **** not necessarily about boxing and Joshua forwards them on to Eddie. Eddie brags like that is something anyone that likes Joshua will like to hear

You are absolutely right about Hearn behaviour, I would be furious or chasing Shelly if with that multi-million dollar deal on the verge of collapsing. But Hearn doesn’t seem bothered by it.

And yes Shelly himself is an idiot, I don’t think Hearn wanted this fight next, but he has gone as far as made two offers to Shelly before this whole Povetkin deal. If Shelly wasn’t an idiot then he would get that fight signed ASAP so Hearn doesn’t have no choice.

I have used Mayweather signing to fight de la Hoya as an example of a B-side who recognise the impact of the future. I genuinely believe Wilder stops AJ if that fight happens next, sometimes you got to make calculated moves as the B-side on the A-sides, A-sides can drag their feet, B-sides can’t and shouldn’t.

Especially when your fighter is getting older and has peaked, this is how Team GGG allowed GBP to effectively delay the fight to give Canelo more of a chance against GGG. Shelly tried to play the “We would not be push around” silliness and now Hearn has used that opportunity to delay the fight.

This fight should have been signed on that 12.5m flat fee. Knock AJ out and control your destiny from there on. But now they would make 2.5m more to delay a fight that would give AJ a better chance at winning. If that is top notch management then I feel sorry for Wilder himself.

Hearn has now played it perfectly, Povetkin is a big name, tough fight, and anything can happen in that fight. He can KO AJ, cut him etc which means the April 2019 fight wouldn’t happen or pushed back for rematch/healing from injuries. Then mandatories comes in from other organisation if this Wilder deal isn’t signed off yet again.
