Comments Thread For: Hearn: Joshua Wants Wilder; Don't Question Integrity, Desire!

Eddie Hearn has heard and read from plenty of people over the past two days that neither he nor Anthony Joshua wanted Joshua to fight Deontay Wilder next. Hearn contends that it's Joshua, not him, that ultimately determines his opponents. Joshua's promoter also assured skeptics during a wide-ranging interview with IFL TV that the unbeaten British superstar indeed wanted to fight Wilder before the WBA ordered Hearn on Tuesday to finalize a deal for Joshua's mandatory heavyweight title defense against Alexander Povetkin within 24 hours.

Other than Wlad there’s nothing impressive about any one of those stiffs. And the Wlad fight was a great fight but Joshua’s performance was aight.

He is right about Joshua fighting better opposition. The only guy wilder has in his 40 fights is Ortiz. Joshua 21 fights has Wladdy, Breazelee, Parker and Whyte. But I would call this a pickem odds fight. Would be to close to call once they actually do get into The ring.

What does Mauricio Sulaiman have to say about this? I want to know what the WBC Prez says about it.

It's easy to have a better resume when you're not as much of a threat as Wilder is..
Nobody really has to fight you...

I've never questioned whether Joshua wanted the fight aside from turning down the 50 mil he asked for. Eddie trying to deflect, dude we know it's you that didn't want this fight next. Heck your father manned up and said it awhile ago, no reason to lie to the fans.
