Comments Thread For: Mikey Garcia Explains His Confidence Against Lomachenko

WBC lightweight champion Mikey Garcia (38-0, 30 KOs) is hoping to get his hands on Vasiliy Lomachenko (11-1, 9 KOs), who holds the WBA lightweight title, at some point in 2019. Next month, on July 28, Garcia will collide with IBF lightweight champion Robert Easter in a highly anticipated unification.

Hopefully his head doesn't get too big (figuratively speaking, his head is literally ****ing massive) or else he'll be in for a shocking surprise.

Great fight, only hope it can be made. Funny how a Canelo article gets 200+ comments, but no opinions on one of the best fights that can be made in boxing.

so mikey said he cant give credit to loma for beating smaller guys like rigo and mikey has said in the past that he rather fight spence because beating a "smaller" guy in loma, people will not give him credit for, so why is he talking about fighting loma?

Mikey walk around weight is near 175lbs while Loma is walking around near 140lbs! This is why Mikey is confident! It's clear Mikey is much bigger than most if not all challengers and champions at 135!

Because that fight would make great money for both.

Great fight! Hope it happens. Please uncle Bob let this happen for the fans. Hard to split the two of them but Mickeys size advantage will definitely help him. This and Spence vs Crawford will be hard to make but we can only hope

Not sure what he needs to explain. They're both P4P fighters and Mikey is 2-3 weight classes heavier. Dude was fighting at 130 when he was 20 years old.

Because loma is no longer a small guy. By beating Linares he’s proved himself to be a player in the lightweight division they’re 1 & 2 right now. I’m sure you’d **** your pants if aj said “there’s no point in fighting a smaller guy like wilder” despite them being in the same division.

It’s like if Rigo was given the time to adjust to the new weight class had 1/2 good wins and then fought loma he would’ve got more credit than he did for that win.
