It's a hard sport to keep track of at the place where it should be easy. Who is the champion shouldn't be a tough question but it is. That's been true longer than many adherents of bygone eras will often admit. It's really tough in an era with four major sanctioning bodies.

TBRB is real funny with their 'retirement' policy :Manny Pacquiao was recognized as lineal in 2016, he then 'retires' after beating the #.2 Timothy 'Desert-Storm' Bradley in April of 2016, then returns in November to win the WBO off Jessie Vargas the same year! That policy is broken. Terence Crawford is lineal DEAL WITH IT.

But you can make a case for Tyson Fury, that was a real retirement as far as I'm concern.

Does it take in to account when one fighter BLATANTLY DUCKS another fighter? Case in point: I see Wilder is ranked at #2 behind AJ. I firmly believe on everything that is holy Wilder will smash AJ in to unconsciousness. However, AJ is too afraid to fight Wilder, thus Wilder does not have the opportunity to move in to the #1 spot.

I'd like to know too, I believe it's when the reigning champ blatantly ducks his mandatory for years so the sanctioning body needs to come up with another title for their real champ?

Perhaps you can clarify something for me, "what is a Middleweight (155-160 lbs.)"?

Also how did Canelo "unify" titles against Trout who was only the WBA "regular" champ during the time that Floyd was the WBA "Super"?

Lastly, How did Canelo win the vacant WBC against Hatton that had never competed at JMW before or even after? & then win another vacant WBC title against Cotto who also didn't compete at that division? Seems by my counting Canelo has only one legit title...WBO against Smith, with zero defenses.

Btw, I want to thank you for your continued support of GGG! You follow & comment on his career more than other die hard fan I've seen! Props!

Cliff, why is Pacquiao's three month retirement recognized while Tyson Fury's multiple social media retirements and subsequent 2.5 year layoff not recognized?

While I applaud you for ignoring most of the RING's nonsense, it does appear that you recognized Yamanaka-Moreno as the start of a lineage. How was Moreno the #2 bantamweight in the world when he was 1-2 in his last 3 fights going into the Yamanaka rematch? I don't believe this was anywhere near a unanimous stance with boxing's various rankings outlets.
