Comments Thread For: Spence: People Will Want to See Thurman Fight Once He Comes Back

NEW YORK Interest in an Errol Spence Jr.-Keith Thurman fight has waned somewhat over the past eight months. Thurman's contention that he wouldn't seriously consider facing Spence until 2019 and his lengthy recovery from elbow surgery made fans turn their attention toward other fights. The often-injured Thurman's lengthy absence also has helped make Spence-Terence Crawford the fight within the welterweight division.

Keith Thurman should stay healthy and not imitate Tyson Fart Fury!

That's a good comparison, Tyson Fury. Thurman got a couple of good wins and paydays and lost interest in fighting. I doubt a fight with Spence happens anytime soon.

I doubt Thurman will even face Spence in 2019.

I would think most fight fans want to see this fight and Spence wants it most of all the one that wants at least of all is Thurman ...I went out on the limb and I said I doubt the fight would ever happen and if it does maybe the earliest it would be is the end of 2020... I believe as Spence has progressed Thurman's heart is getting weak...

How long will the WBA wait for Thurman? He hasn't fought since March 2017! Somehow he's still ranked as the #1 Welterweight by ESPN!

Thurman gone silent. Not a good look for him when Spence constantly is calling him out and raising his profile.

Lol, Thurman is damn near retired for me.

I wouldn't be surprised if he pushed his return out to 2019.
