Comments Thread For: Frampton: Me vs. Santa Cruz is The Biggest Featherweight Fight

Carl Frampton says there is no bigger fight in the featherweight division than a rubber match between himself and WBA champion Leo Santa Cruz. Santa Cruz, 29, made it two wins out of two against rival Abner Mares on June 9 to follow up on his victory over his fellow Mexican three years ago.

The Frampton/Warrington fight will be a great battle, but I agree, a 3rd LSC/Frampton fight is indeed needed. And would be great to see how it goes... after getting LSC/Russell Jr and Frampton/Warrington out the way. It's all about levels, and assuming it goes as odds would favor it to go... it would be a good argument that the winner of Frampton/LSC would indeed be the best FW in the sport.

I'm optimistic we can start getting these epic battles going on more often.... just so the actual fighters demand them and promoters 'agendas' are put on the back burner. It's what would be best for the sport.

Personally 'd like to see is GRJ vs Frampton. This is a match-up I've wanted for years.

Even though it's 1-1, i've no massive desire to see it again.

I'd happily watch it if it happened though. I'd just rather see them both string some good wins together and make it into a fight that needs to happen.

Even though I am pretty sure Gary Russell beats LSC rather easy, Id rather see that fight.
