Comments Thread For: Muhammad Ali By The Numbers - New CompuBox Book

Co-authored by CompuBox President Bob Canobbio and writer/researcher/punch-counter Lee Groves, "Muhammad Ali: By the Numbers" addresses an area of Ali's boxing life that has never been fully examined by any other project: The punches Ali dished out and, most notably, the punches he took. For the first time ever, "Muhammad Ali by the Numbers" will publish the punch stats for 47 of Ali's 61 professional fights -- all of the complete footage of Ali's career that is available -- including 43 of his final 44 fights and 474 of his 584 professional rounds.

Pointless article to sell a book. Greatest of all time? At HW maybe, but all divisions nah. Era’s are really hard to compare fairly so GOAT is more of a fun topic than a serious debate.

He is the greatest of all time among all fighters, can you name one fighter who is greater, who made more of an impact?

Even today with all the free information flow, Floyd who is our biggest cash cow can't go to an African country and pull thousands of people. Ali fought where ever he wanted around the world and tens of thousands ran to see him. Almost everyone you will meet knows who he is. Then once you add his boxing achievements and off ring achievements, you really can't compare any other sports figure.

Which other sport figure do you think would die and keep the whole world on a stand still? If lebron slumps and dies today right in a live game, loads of people outside US won't know or care.

Don't mistake greatest for best fighter, Ali is not the best fighter but he is the greatest.
