Crazy how Kovalev is not the one who took the decision to abandon the purse bid, but HBO did, through Kathy Duva, because Haymon made sure to block the fight the same way he pushed Adonis to run off to Showtime. Crazy how Kovalev fought and TKO'd Pascal twice, who beat Adonis in the amateurs, so Adonis never wanted to face him in the pros. Crazy how Kovalev fought Ward twice while Adonis fought Fonfara twice. Crazy how Kovalev is about to fight Alvarez, who Adonis was ducking for several years.
