The problem with PBC was you had a bunch of fighters who wanted big paychecks but didn't want to take any risk. You can't manage fighters and promote. If you're going to be a promoter you are going to have to make fights that you know some fighters will lose to boost the appeal of your top fighters. Now you have all these qusi fighters walking around that havn't really proved anything in years. Who's the top fighter in the PBC stable? You can make a case for anyone and that's not good. With Matchroom it's AJ, moneyteam it's Daves, Warren it is a tie between Fury or saunders, golden boy it's Canelo, Duva it's the russian lol.

gaymon totally screwed up by over paying for bum fights that led to boxers being greedy and wanting more. Now everyone wants 7 figures to fight bums.

Pbc chose to look out for fighters financially but didn't do much to help their legacy. They made good purses but would only fight once or twice a yr. If Hearn is being truthful, this could be very good for boxing fans because there should be more fights that fans want to see taking place more often.

Haymon made many mistakes but his biggest one was overpaying fighters for fighting bums. Lots of his guys had a good few years of comfort fighting bums for nice paydays, and now that the pot of gold has dried up they aren't happy they've got to fight live opponents. Although some fighters like tank and Charlo are still happy to fight the lower level competition and just accept they won't get paid aswell.

I disagree with your assessment. Hearn is paying Jacobs more for fighting Arias, than Jermall Charlo has made EVER. That's why Jacobs was clowning him! They've had of HIGH-RISK fights in the PBC, too many to name. Haymon even got Jacobs the GGG fight. Let's see what Hearn gets for Jacobs. Let's see what Hearn gets for Miller, then we can compare.

If he thinks it was PBC who chose to restrict its marquee fighters to 1 or 2 fights a year, he has another thing coming. It will take healthy purses or "fight contracts" to convince some of these guys to take risks. Maybe he can find about 15 Adrien Broner/Austin Trout types, who will fight just about anyone for a good check. It's going to be tough.

It defenetly can't do worse than PBC. I don't even think PBC still fights on "free tv" anymore. I think most of their fights are on Showtime.
