Comments Thread For: Carlos Adames Decisions a Game Alejandro Barrera

NEW YORK Carlos Adames didn't get the knockout he and his handlers sought Saturday night. The hard-hitting Dominican prospect did more than enough, though, to beat Alejandro Barrera in their 10-round super welterweight fight. The Dominican Republic's Adames landed a lot of hard shots to the determined Mexican veteran's head and body, and won a unanimous decision on the Vasiliy Lomachenko-Jorge Linares undercard at Madison Square Garden.

I would hardly call him the best kept secret in WW division ...after what I saw, as Bradley kept pointing out, he has some serious deficiencies that against an elite fighter will be exposed... but on the other hand he's only got 14 fight so let's see where he is in another 18 to 24 months...

I think Adames is a good prospect, but I don't think 147 is where he should be. He looked fatigued late, a lot of misses, and not a lot of movement! His targets should be Charlo, or Sadam Ali, not Bud and Errol!

Carlos is a lot better than what he showed tonight. He didn't even box much. I'm not sure if he was just too focused on the KO or what...
