    Full fight courtesy of GoldenBoy.

Pretty decent defense for Vargas on the undercard of Ali vs. Munguia. Vargas and Hovhannisyan have Ronny Rios as a common opponent ; Hovhannisyan went to Rios backyard as the underdog and stopped him, Vargas went the distance with Rios.

Rey Vargas said he wants a WAR and a KO but this suits Hovahannisyan style, with Vargas drop in KO's since winning the WBC superbantamweight title it would not be wise to go in there with that mentality.

Vargas is going to have trouble with this kid...his 2 losses were very close ones...and he did better vs Ronny Rios than Vargas did.

I would not be shocked if azat beats vargas. This kid hits so hard and even though he is a brawler he has speed. Looks great with Freddie Roach. I told folks here he is legit and will upset Ronnie Rios. Same rios that vargas just went 12 with azat demolished and knocked out. I am not sold on vargas chin and if azat catches him it could be light out.

Vargas better hope this doesn't become a "wild war" because that plays right into Azat's hands. Vargas needs to keep this a boxing match if he's going to win

A fairly tough fight for Vargas after his surgery vs a solid B fighter who hit hard ...what is in my mind is Rey's bad habit of pulling back with his head from a straight right hand... I would still expect Vargas to win decision...

Rey is there to be hit his defense isn't great. His defense is his length and jab. He needs to box azat and stay on the outside because if this becomes a war he getting laid out.
