PAUL BUTLER missed weight ahead of his world title fight this weekend. The Ellesmere Port bantamweight was set to fight Emmanuel Rodriguez on Saturday for the vacant IBF world title. But the belt will now be at stake for Rodriguez only after the 29-year-old came in at 8st 9.3lbs [121.3-pounds].

What an idiot. Rooting for Rodriguez and hope a unification with Burnett can happen if he doesn't go for another champ.

121.3 pounds WTF? I remember how Randy Caballero missed weight in his first title defense against another euro-bum Lee Haskins for this very same title in 2015.

For some reason the coward Lee Haskins was awarded the title and flew back home to the UK after refusing to fight for it in Vegas, but Manny Rodriguez is no euro-bum coward and I'm sure will go on and whoop Paul Butler regardless if Butler comes in as featherweight.

I'm beginning to suspect this IBF bantamweight belt is cursed : before Caballero, the other weight-bully Jamie McDonnell was stripped of it for ducking Yusi Malinga, then Lee Haskins ran and sold it to another Brit...coward Ryan Burnett that dropped it instead of facing the #1. contender Manny Rod...Wow! I'm so happy that this belt is coming back to western-civilization the home of real champions ; the IBF has been in the wrong hands for far too long.

Theres no excuses there for butler... that's just ****ing sloppy.

Stinks of someone who knows he is going to get beaten so wont bother with the drain of it.
Manny will no doubt win without much issue.

As a brit... extremely disappointed in that attitude

              Butler is pathetic.

He's not even a good enough boxer to care about.

                This sucks.

I hate fights where one boxer has failed to make weight. There's a sense of anti climax and you never know if they've blown their chances in advance trying to lose that last pound.
