Comments Thread For: Sanchez: Jacobs-Charlo 'Very Good Fight,' But Jacobs Beats Him

SANTA MONICA, California Abel Sanchez wasn't impressed by how Daniel Jacobs boxed against Maciej Sulecki on Saturday night. In fact, Gennady Golovkin's trainer is convinced his fighter took something out of Jacobs in their competitive battle 13 months ago that has made Jacobs a different fighter in his two subsequent bouts. If Jacobs were to fight unbeaten contender Jermall Charlo, though, Sanchez still would favor Jacobs to win.

Sure you do Abel lol sure you do.

This reminds me of the asinine, "Cotto beats Canelo" discussion. I hope they get in the ring to end this debate.

Should start keeping track of the posters here picking Danny lol

“I don’t think Charlo is good enough. Charlo has looked good against Hugo Centeno, but Centeno quit against Julian Williams [a no-contest]. And Charlo looked good against a cripple from Argentina [Jorge Sebastian Heiland].
“But he hasn’t – in my opinion, anyway – gotten to the level where Jacobs is. And if Jacobs gets his mind right, I think that Jacobs beats him. It’s a good fight. It’s a very good fight, but I would give a slight edge to Jacobs.”-abel

How do you go from look good against them but then its a "slight edge" against Jacobs? This abel hopes & prays that Jacobs can beat Mall so he doesn't have to worry bout putting lil g in there against Mall & get smoked.

Jacobs is way to cautious of a fighter now. Who Jacobs biggest win anyway? Quillin? That dudes trash. Jacobs gets dogged by Charlo plain and simple

Really? He put Jacobs on his ass and was never hurt or outworked by him...
He outlanded and had Carnelo on his backfoot all night Dictating the pace of the fight. Forcing ginger to get punked around the ring.
If Golovkin managed to accomplish that while being a pile of Shyt, what does that say about his these 2 men? GTFOH

Pretty much this and he's right.

Why GGG should fight everybody while those guys (top MWs) would continue fighting scrubs avoiding each others?

IF Charlo destroys Jacobs while GGG struggled with him then GGG will have all the pressure of the world to fight Charlo.

Charlo wants to talk his way into a title shot at the big champ GGG fighting scrubs.

GGG has few shots left and Charlo is high risks-low rewards.
He brings nothing to the table in terms of legacy, no belt, no PPV because if GGG beat him they will say he beat ANOTHER 154 pounder.
Charlo is the last choice IMO, even Derev brings a belt to the table (if GGG don't fight him he loses his IBF belt), and Derev might be a tougher nut to crack than Charlo.
