Comments Thread For: Warren: Wilder, Joshua Must Beat Tyson Fury To Be 'True Champ'

The efforts of Anthony Joshua (21-0, 20 KOs) and Deontay Wilder (40-0, 39 KOs) to unify the heavyweight division are in vain until they defeat lineal champion Tyson Fury, according to promoter Frank Warren. Joshua and Wilder are in talks for a mammoth bout to unify their five main belts, with the former holding the IBF, IBO, WBA and WBO straps previously owned by Fury.

I can see this sort of headline becoming a daily occurrence until the lying, fat, coke head, drug cheat gets flattened. Old fish eyes is just trying to build him up again.

I don't see how Fury can beat Wilder and Joshua. He is a good boxer ad I picked him to beat Klitschko but these 2 guys I don't see it. He can't hide behind the jab all night because these 2 will find him one way or another.

The same thing over and over takes the shine of the actual fight.

I doubt even the most biased gyppo caravan dwellers believe fat man fury is the true champ anymore.

Ah listen to Warren wanting to get in on the action, let’s see Fury make it through 6 rounds before we start talking silly

This is typical cod eyes .We all want Tyson to be part of the action but he is coming back from a really bad place that may have taken it's toll on him and only 'baby steps' taken by him will show what he has left. He's maybe four fights away from this if at all.

Warren is plain wrong when he says Fury is the 'lineal' world champion. The last lineal world champion was Lennox Lewis and Fury didn't beat Lewis. Klitschko did not hold the WBC title, generally considered the most prestigious of the four. He held the Ring belt, but lost that because he announced his retirement. When you retire the line of succession is broken. Fury has been out for two-and-a-half years and is now making a comeback. By the time he fights Joshua or Wilder he would have been out for around four years. He will be a former champion and challenger. That is all. And while Warren sings his praises now, I remember him telling us that Derrick Chisora would beat him. And does he really think that a man who got knocked down heavily by the aged cruiserweight Steve Cunningham (who also outboxed him for six rounds), would stand up to the power of Wilder or Joshua? Pull the other one.
