  • Comments Thread For: Sanchez: Jacobs Looked Terrible, Not Same After Fighting Golovkin

Abel Sanchez wasn't the least bit impressed with how Daniel Jacobs fought Saturday night. Gennady Golovkin's trainer thinks Jacobs "looked terrible" during his 12-round victory over Maciej Sulecki. Sanchez attributes Jacobs' slippage to going 12 hard rounds against Golovkin in their middleweight title fight 13 months ago at Madison Square Garden.

Danny has always looked the same. There's been no substantial drop off at all. Has always been the same fighter: solid power/skill, marginal footwork, unfocused/low motor for stretches of fights.

I don't think it has anything to do with "after the Golovkin fight".
He was a decent fighter before, a decent fighter after. Did he shine when he fought Golovkin or did Golovkin almost get beat by just a decent fighter? It's debatable.

Jacobs put the perfmance of his life against Grnnady. He almost collapsed after the fight. It is unrealistic to expect that performance in too many fights.

If he ever faces Gennady again or even Canelo/Charlo, he will look much better.
Simply put, against Gennady he was 100%+, no fighter can subatain that.

GGG is not the same since he ducked Ward and ditched calling out anyone from 154-168. He has since become a cherry picker and has been appropriately renamed lil g.

Have to disagree with Abel here...Sulecki is no slouch just doesn't have any power. Also it seems Danny fights down to the level of his opponents sometimes, should've been a smooth night for Danny but I like the Sulecki guy too.

I don't know what he saw. That was a good fight and was fought at a high level. Both guys were sharp with good counters and snappy punches the-out the fight.

                    Lol.

Jacobs won his last fight. Can Bumlovkin say the same?
