Munguia was Golovkin's #1 and preferred replacement opponent but no commission would sanction it. Poor guy missed out on a huge payday.

I'm glad they didn't sanction the fight with GGG for this kid. I believe that would have ruined his whole career!! I'm a Ali fan but I hope the guy has a good showing and puts up a good fight.

I thought that Ali vs Smith was a solid match up. Smith is the meat and potatoes while Ali had the flash and skill.

However I am actually a little more intrigued by this fight. Munguia is Mexico's most hyped prospect since Canelo I would say Nery but he has had some missteps these last few fights.

If Ali wins I would expect another high profile fight next. Possibly a unification. But if Mungia wins expect him to be hyped up by HBO as the next Canelo.

Haven't seen him fight but he was the Ring's 2017 Prospect of the Year. I'll be looking forward to this fight to see what he's got.
