Comments Thread For: Luis Ortiz Can't Wait To Get His Hands On Dillian Whyte

For Luis Ortiz, a new lifeline has opened up. After his hard-fought defeat from this past March, a new opportunity with a door to a world title shot. As BoxingScene.com reported a few days ago, the World Boxing Council (WBC) has ordered a final eliminator between Ortiz and Dillian Whyte (23-1, 17 KOs) - with the winner earning a mandatory shot at WBC world champion Deontay Wilder.

They are both top contenders and if they fight each other, than I expect Joshua fighting Povetkin next. Wilder should fight winner of Ortiz -Whyte and than Joshua, finally.

Joshua -Wilder winner will have to fight somebody, and there will be guys like Miller, Pulev, Ruiz jr, Parker etc.

After what's happened with the WBC and the mandatory process there I think Whyte may go the IBF route. Fight Pulev and get a mandatory shot at Joshua. Tougher fight but a far bigger reward.

Let's see how Whyte performs against the 1000 year old bum Lol... Those words will haunt him if Grandpa Ortiz flattens him.

What is Whyte gonna do? Man up or btch out.

Depends how much the old guy has left imo. In terms of ability he has far too much for Whyte who is decidedly mediocre, but Ortiz is at that point where could "get old" overnight. The ko by Wilder could have done that to him. However, the chance it hasn't obviously worries Hearn and Whyte!
