Comments Thread For: Felix Verdejo May Head Up To Junior Welterweight Limit of 140

Felix Verdejo has already returned to the Diamond Boxing Club gym, five weeks after having been defeated by technical knockout at the hands of Antonio Lozada Jr. this past March. Ricky Marquez, manager and coach of the Puerto Rican boxer, said yesterday that the aspiration of Verdejo after his first defeat is to fight again this summer, but revealed that they will first determine if they will continue campaigning at 135 pounds or if they will rise to the junior welterweight limit of 140.

Unless this dude is gonna get a new trainer and train outside of PR, I won't pay him any mind. Great idea to move up in weight when you were manhandled by a guy much bigger than you at a lower weight class. Idiots.

In other news canelo apparently did hair testing by the request of Nevada athletic commission and came back negative.

he Nevada commission collected hair samples from Alvarez on March 29 and they were tested at the Sports Medicine Research & Testing Laboratory, a WADA-accredited lab in Salt Lake City, Utah, Bob Bennett, the commission executive director, told ESPN.

The results document, which was provided to ESPN, was returned on April 20 with a single note in the section reserved for analysis details: "Hair sample tested for clenbuterol. Clenbuterol was not detected."

The negative hair follicle test is notable because while clenbuterol is detectable in urine for less than a week after it is ingested, the drug can be detected in hair for several months."

If making weight is hard, he'll feel much better moving up. I dont rate him very high until he proves it, no matter the weight

Doesn't matter any more, time has already passed him by. SMH, every time I see Verdejo's name I can't help but feel let down

Let verdejo fight mickey garcia and welcome a real defeat, an embarrassing knockout.

Verdejo is a disaster. He might even lose next time via KO again.
