Comments Thread For: Hugo Centeno Reflects on Stoppage Loss To Maciej Sulecki

Middleweight Hugo Centeno (26-1, 14 KO's) faces Jermall Charlo at the Barclay Center this Saturday night as part of the Showtime tripleheader. At stake is the interim-WBC middleweight title. Centeno has one career loss - a 10th round stoppage at the hands of Maciej Sulecki - and that experience for the 27-year old native of Oxnard, California has proven to be a valuable lesson for him.

Hindsight is always 20/20!! That's the tricky thing about boxing the fans don't see the struggle behind the scenes only how you perform come fight. If I was a fighter I wouldn't take short notice fights unless a his payday was involved even then one mistake could ruin your career. So we'll see how he does tomorrow night. He'll need to be on his A game against Charlo.

Preach. He was DONE in that fight man. Super lucky he had the option to quit and make the fight a no contest. Centeno does have some skills though so I think he’s gonna give Charlo some trouble.

4 weeks to train for Sulecki and he looked that disastrous? I watched that fight a couple day ago. Centeno lost every round to Sulecki who himself is nothing special and Centeno also got spanked by J-Rock as the others have said here. J-Rock is also not a top tier fighter, specially back when he fought Centeno.
