  • Comments Thread For: Arum: Matthysse Fight Dangerous for Pacquiao at This Stage

Bob Arum's plan called for Manny Pacquiao to face a less imposing opponent in the Filipino icon's comeback from his controversial loss to Jeff Horn. Pacquiao's longtime promoter wanted Pacquiao to fight faded Mike Alvarado as part of the Horn-Terence Crawford card in Las Vegas. To his credit, Pacquiao picked hard-hitting Lucas Matthysse for a welterweight title fight that'll take place July 14 in Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia (pay-per-view).

No it was. It's one of those rare times that Arum didn't lie.

Pac's torn rotator cuff tear as evident in this pic.

Right deltoid, red mark. Shows Pac was truly 50% of his true self

Pac's Surgeon explains torn rota-tor cuff surgery.

Former Ultimate Fighting Championship Dashon Johnson confirmed through his official Facebook account that Pacquiao hurt his right shoulder two weeks ago, which flared up during the third round of the fight on Saturday.

We were asked not to mention anything to anyone but yes Manny got hurt during this camp with his right shoulder and it was messed up pretty bad," Johnson said on Facebook. "So bad his sparring partners including myself were asked to go home a few weeks out before the actual fight"

I will be the 1st one to say it here. It’s going to end ugly for Manny, on his back, out cold. Lucas has a powerful over hand right. And the right hand has dropped, hurt, & KO’ed Manny before. Kudos to Manny for taking this fight. Excerpt from Lucas last fight with Kiram in January. “Kiram was motionless under the bottom ring rope, and Caiz waved off the fight at 1 minute, 21 seconds in the 8th round. Kiram was taken to the hospital right after the fight.”

As long as the fight is entertaining and ends with a KO that's all I care about. This is a good fight and I don't care who wins it both guys need a good victory.

The way both guys looked in their last fight, this fight doesn't look like it will be any good. Maybe they both can summon up the energy from years past (in other words no PED testing ) and they put on a great fight. If Lara can summon up the balls to do what he did, I'm sure 2 punchers maybe can do same.

I don't plan to watch it.
