  • Comments Thread For: Joshua Admits Miller or Povetkin Are More Likely For Next Fight

Anthony Joshua considers American Jarrell Miller or Alexander Povetkin of Russia his likeliest next challenger. The IBF, WBA, IBO and WBO heavyweight champion's management have made an offer to Deontay Wilder, who holds the WBC title, for what would be the world's richest and most significant fight, but Joshua is not convinced of his interest.

I'm a Wilder fan. but I understand that both Joshua and Wilder are blocking the fight ... Joshua must pay Poventkin to step aside, go to New York and beat Miller ... Hearn must offer those same 12.5 million to Wilder to take him to the UK to face Whyte ... then both of them winning and having made more base in each other's country, then 60% -40% can be negotiated in favor of Joshua, in Wembley ... and the rematch with invested percentages if Wilder wins, and in Las Vegas ... they could make more than 100 million for each one by adding both fights .....

we all knew this... to be honest AJ needs another fight against a big puncher before he fights wilder, hes technically better than WILDER but looking at his fights his not ready for the akwardness n power wilder brings. some may take it as an insult but its just true and AJ and Hearn know this, the issue is how hearn is able to throw all this Bullsht out there and the fans eat it up and defend it even when its blatantly a lie. Wilder is not the perfect fighter and we his fans know this, but if AJ fights wilder anything like hes looked in his past 2 fights its going to be lights out at any moment after round 5 if AJ doesnt KO him. If I was hearn i would fight PEDvtkin as a test then wilder I just wouldnt bullsht the fans and lie as he is doing. stop with the lies we arent ******

              (1) That $100 million projection is bull*****t. The fighters "pot" was thought to be around $50 million. I have no clue how that number doubled. $12.5 million isn't that crazy when you think about the more realistic projection. So Idk what's the big beef on Wilder's side. I assume it's more to it b/c it can't be just the money b/c that seems very close to the $15-$20 million VK got.

              (2) AJ strikes me as worried about Wilder and after watching his reaction to straight rights versus Parker and others (that was highlighted by Breadman) I think I know why. He's not the favorite in that fight and I think he knows it.

              (3) I'm still hoping this gets done, but these guys are ****ing us all over with this. Time to stop supporting the b.s.

Widler v Joshua not happening in 2018.
Every fight is a mega event with Joshua ie 80,000 tickets 1 million PPV = £40 odd million so...
WBA mandatory (Povetkin) to hide behind and then there's the IBF and WBO mandatories with Tyson Fury coming back and even David Haye as well to fight potentially and those 2 fights would make Joshua a lot of money with less risk.
Let's face it Joshua can have 3 mandatories and and 2 big money fights with Fury and Haye before risking it in a 50/50 shoot-out with Wilder.
Don't be surprised if 2020 it happens, let Wilder get to 34/35 years old and lose some speed maybe that's the gameplan here.
Plenty of fights to make that are easier and make Joshua more money (and Hearn's 20% cut ), a fighter may only have 1 more fight in him after getting KO'd badly and then they rematch and if he get's KO'd badly twice in a row (rematch clause), Joshua may say I'm done now so Hearn's thinking do 4/5 fights first (mega events as standard procedure for Joshua unbeaten Olympic Gold medallist making loads of money before risking your cash cow against Wilder.
