Comments Thread For: Hurd: Once I Beat Charlo, Want Big-Money Fights With GGG, Canelo

Jarrett Hurd expects to fight Jermell Charlo next. If Charlo wins his fight against undetermined opponent June 9 in Los Angeles, Hurd and Charlo both have stated that they want to fight for Charlo's WBC super welterweight title and Hurd's IBF, IBO and WBA 154-pound championships. Showtime's Stephen Espinoza also has expressed interest in airing that intriguing matchup on the network later this year.

    Best scenario for boxing:

Hurd takes care of Charlo and becomes the undisputed 154 champ (Sorry but I don't give a sht about Sadam ali's belt).

GGG takes cares of BJS and becomes the 160 undisputed champ.

Then you have a mega fight at 160, 5 belts, Hurd vs GGG.

Charlo fights Jacobs, the winner becoming a legit elite top challenger to Hurd vs GGG winner.

I'd like to see Castano fight... They are the same height according to boxrec(I find it hard to believe), but Hurd has nearly 10 inch reach advantage...
On the other hand Hurd is much more flat-footed and Castano fights in spots, can be in and out.. Very curious about how it would play out.
Hurd murders those guys pretty bad.

I mean, Brook and J Rock need to avoid this guy and redeem themselves a bit more before getting thrown to the wolves again.

Margarito reached cult status? he doesn't have any win comparable to what Hurd just accomplished vs Lara. I understand the comparison in style but in terms of accomplishment Hurd eclipsed Margarito in one night.

When does Brian Carlos Castano get a shot? I've seen him listed as one of the WBA champs, but never seen him in action with any of the Top Dogs? He's also listed as 6'1". Jermell what's up? I would rather see him than Austin Trout!

With Hurds style he’s going to lose something with every fight. You can’t take that kind of punishment from the best fighters out there. He has to improve his defense or in 3 years he’ll sound like Rios.

Hurd is making me a fan of his, more and more!

Took on the toughest challenge in the division in just his second defense of his title while guys like the Charlo fighting kids and getting their card pulled in person by cancer patients when they talked trash on the internet!

What he did to Lara is the biggest win currently unless Wilder beats AJ or Gassiev beats Usyk!

I got Hurd beating Charlo, just saw some of his other fights! He can do more than just come forward, he had to due to him fighting southpaws who both used the ring arnd have speed advantage!

Charlo will box, use the jab and counter when openings are there but I see Hurd mixing it up by using his jab, going to the body, using the ring and then putting on the pressure!

The Undisputed 154 vs the Undisputed 160 could become one of the most historical matches in the recent years if both guys still kept their belt.
