  • Comments Thread For: Hurd: Lara Talks Tough, But He & His Team Definitely Worried

Jarrett Hurd hasn't reacted to any of the predictions Erislandy Lara has made during the promotion of their fight Saturday night. The Cuban southpaw has warned that he'll knock out Hurd if the unbeaten IBF junior middleweight champion is as reckless defensively against him as Hurd was when Hurd became the first fighter to stop Austin Trout in his last bout.

If the scales say him and Lara are close in weight then I would say you have a point. Lara looks way smaller even in full workout close. Hurd's arms and hands are huge compare to Lara's. This will be a tough fight for Lara just in the size difference alone.

Wooooooowwww if pictures are worth a thousand words it says Hurd should be a light heavyweight!!!! That dude makes Lara look small and his arms are bigger than Lara's whole BODY!! jk

But Lara still should win off technique he's the better boxer he just better make sure he doesn't get caught with anything big or it could be nap time!! Still got Lara by UD!!

I will say this I'm happy for how far Hurd has came in his career. I'm that Frank Galarza fight I remember the announcer saying it was a huge step up fight for Hurd because he's only beaten soft competition lol And next thing you know he KO's Galarza and now he's fighting Lara with the chance of leaving the ring with three belts!! Win or lose good job.

I have followed Hurd since he knocked out Frank Galarza some years ago.
His composure and technical attributes are great.

Lara is a skilled fighter who is the best at what he does. I believe age will slow down his move a bit.

Its either Lara wins by decision or Hurd wins by knock out.

The deciding factors are the amount of pressure Hurd will apply on Lara and how Lara can contain that pressure with his movement and his left punch.

I have picked against Hurd almost every time, including against Harrison. He just grinds away and always finds a way to win. My every instinct is to pick Lara by sd but I am going with Hurd by sd instead.

How is he a cheat? Does he bring his own scale to the weigh in? If he weighs 154 or less on the official scales at the weigh in then he didn't cheat. It doesn't matter if he weighs 200 pounds on fight night. He is following today's rules. Blame the rules if you want but don't blame a boxer who follows those rules and has done nothing wrong.
