Comments Thread For: Canelo-Golovkin Rematch: Full Refunds Being Offered for Tickets

Nearly two weeks remain until the Nevada State Athletic Commission will determine whether the Canelo Alvarez-Gennady Golovkin rematch can take place as planned. That hasn't stopped MGM Resorts International from offering full refunds to consumers who've purchased tickets to the jeopardized event. According to a story posted to the Las Vegas Review-Journal's website Wednesday, an MGM Resorts International spokesperson confirmed that the company, which co-owns T-Mobile Arena, is providing full refunds to those that have bout tickets to the high-profile fight, scheduled for May 5 at T-Mobile Arena.

GGG vs Saunders. 5 millions for GGG.
GGG vs Eubank jr. 3-4 millions.

Not the same than 15 millions against Canelo but it's something.

It would be a shame if it gets cancelled since I don’t see this fight happening again if it doesn’t now. GGG is about to turn 36 & Canelo will make a lot of money against any fighter. Canelo’s career is tarnished in my opinion though after this mess.

the way Billy is behaving he's gonna be absolute headache to negotiate with. in his deluded mind he's the A side and trust me he's gonna be barking orders at GGG. that fight doesnt get made as smooth as ppl think. and Eubank Jr? trust me Golovkin's camp don't wanna deal with Eubank Sr again. they already bailed on a fight. GGG's plan b doesn't seem that clear. they'll ignore Andrade and say he brings no fans. if this gets cancelled it'll affect Golovkin way harder. Canelo can come back from a 6 month - 1 year ban still young and prime with a long line of big names drooling for a payday.

Question is, who does Canelo fight for big paydays? If GGG fights Saunders, that leaves Charlo or Jacobs, and I suspect Canelo won't want to fight either of them.

Well, time to move on. G, find another dance partner. Canelo, win your next fight, no one will care or give credit for it.

I was wondering the status of this fight earlier today. If Dan Rafael is right, they keep inching closer and closer to cancelling it. Lot of interesting developments. But if he ends up found to have cheated, then rightfully so. Shout out to Canelo's hair and makeup team in the pic above. Looks like a toupee.
