Comments Thread For: Barry Feels More Ready For Joshua Than He Was For Lennox Lewis

Kevin Barry is confident that he is better equipped to handle the pressures of a major world title fight - after being days away from another chance to get himself a unified heavyweight champion. The 58-year-old veteran trainer, was the boxing brains behind David Tua when he lost a twelve round unanimous decision to then IBF, IBO, WBC world champion Lennox Lewis in 2000.

He should be hes a seasoned trainer now . And he better be because Joshua unlike Lewis isnt going to fight safe ,hes going to go for a fast brutal pace and try and end the fight sooner than later .

You realise Parker cant win if Barry is clueless and himself not observant right ? He also boxed so he was a combatant and actually fought Holyfield in the ams .

If you dont know the importance of the trainer then i dont know what to tell you ! I expect weird posts from Larry but you too ???? lol

You realize Barry is an olympic silver medalist boxer right? He got a robbery from Evander Holyfield for getting hit after the bell. So when you say non-combatant he had a decent amateur background. As a cornerman and trainer of course his advice and strategy is crucial to the success of his fighter.

Joshua is a pretty heavy betting favorite, and it seems for good reason. Haven't been impressed with Parker's last few fights. Even with his "granite chin", anyone who gets hit by a guy like AJ may have second thoughts continuing to come forward. Another thing not being taken into consideration is that Parker has never fought in front of 75,000 people like this. That kind of energy and pressure can effect a fighter greatly.

That plays right into Oilskin's hands and not what AJ himself has said!

We Samoans, as warriors and performers play better to the bigger crowds.

If Takam on 2 weeks notice can take everything AJ threw at him and got a home cooked premature stoppage before the championship rounds, Oilskin can do so much more!

Read nothing into Parkers earlier defenses.

He's going for broke and that makes him the most dangerous fighter the giant glass jawed robot has EVER faced!!!
