Comments Thread For: Anthony Joshua Bet Small on Whyte to Beat Browne, But Won Big

Anthony Joshua reportedly will earn a guaranteed purse of $18 million for his heavyweight title unification fight against Joseph Parker on Saturday night. That didn't stop the unbeaten British superstar from making the bout between rival Dillian Whyte and Lucas Browne a little more interesting. According to a betting slip Joshua posted to his Instagram page, he won 650 on a 25 wager (roughly $918 on a $35 wager) because he bet on Whyte winning their heavyweight fight by sixth-round knockout.

That's all he could afford to bet? Maybe Wilder was right about Hearn

Wait wait. Wilder is ducking dillan whyte but he's calling out aj?? Mate whyte isn't a bad fighter but really? Wilder sparks whyte out cold in my opinion, if he really is ducking whyte it'll be cause of the lack of money. You really don't believe he's scared of whyte but wants aj do you? Wilder is coming on now, his days of fighting nobody's is over so let's just enjoy some good ole heavyweight fights when we can, and forget the politics. Lets stop hating on the athletes that risk their health in the ring to keep the sport we love relevant in this day and age. Respect to all fighters, age color and creed!

AJ is so well paid that he could place bet on all the options possible and still wins.

This heavyweight scene is really starting to fill out nicely. Wasn't that long ago it was like a dead man walking. We should all rejoice in that we have some interesting fights on the horizon. #boxingisback

hearn has repeatedly said he has never made wilder an offer to fight aj.

so stop making money an excuse, no purse has been discussed.

the world wants joshua vs wilder. not joshua vs Miller or wilder vs whyte
