Comments Thread For: Parker: Joshua, His Team Are Underestimating Me From Fury Fight

Joseph Parker senses Anthony Joshua and his handlers have taken too much confidence from Parker's admittedly subpar performance against Hughie Fury. Parker barely beat Fury in the second defense of the New Zealand native's WBO heavyweight title. The previously undefeated Fury filed a protest with the WBO following that 12-round, majority-decision defeat September 23 in Manchester, England, but Parker's controversial victory pushed him toward the biggest fight of his career against Joshua.

Well to be honest it’s not just from the Fury fight it’s pretty much his whole career that has been somewhat underwhelming.

Fast hands for a heavyweight but no real power or high level of skill.

He pretty much ran when he fought the French guy and I didn’t think he beat Ruiz.

But in all fairness he probably hits as hard as Dillion Whyte, is faster and better technically so he does have a chance to catch Femi

The Ruiz fight was a better guage for the Joshua fight imo.

Except replace fat Ruiz with Joshua, fitter, faster, more determined, better in pretty much every way.

Parker keeps talking about his movement, but he tried to used a lot of lateral movement in that fight and he looked pretty average.

No Parker won but it was one of the worst “title” fights in the history of boxing.

It was Fury literally running around the ring in a dress looking to shoulder roll a counter punch and Parker chasing him throwing wild punches trying to catch him

That's just talk, better believe Aflac Joshua is coming in on his a game. He has bums lined all year to fight to keep the money train going.

That fight was horrendous, Parker looked liked a very one dimensional slugger with B- power. I don't rate Hughie but, he does have reasonably good movement. This bemused Parker who tried following him around, instead of intelligently cutting the ring off.

Parkers plan on trying to tire Joshua out and fell him like Forman isn't going to work. I think he will get a rude awakening much much earlier and be forced to abandon that game plan and trade. Thus getting Ko'd
