Comments Thread For: Prograis Sees 'Lots of Holes' in Jose Ramirez, Respects His Chin

NEW YORK Regis Prograis was more impressed with Jose Ramirez's second-round knockout of Mike Reed than what he saw Saturday night. The WBC interim super lightweight champ still commended Ramirez's performance against Amir Imam. Ramirez (22-0, 16 KOs) consistently pressured Imam (21-2, 18 KOs), hurt him several times and won their 12-round, 140-pound title bout by unanimous decision in The Theater at Madison Square Garden.

Ramirez is good, he definitely has a chin, but if he takes shots like he did from Imam, I think Prograis gets him outta there in 8! No interim fights please! Let's get it!

Indongo was landing some decent shots on Prograis. His defense is suspect also which makes it a interesting matchup. I still side with Prograis for the win but it depends on who can take who's punch the best because neither one has good defense.

I really just don't see Imam as a big puncher, he was just facing inferior competition.. Imam is pretty scrawny now imo

When you been fighting at 150+ in the Am's it's probably best to pack on the pounds hit the weights a bit and fight where you are strongest not move down in weight emancipating yourself to try and get advantages over smaller fighters and Imam wonders why he runs out of gas..

Imam having a big punch comes from most of the guys that sparred with him but like the great Mayweather says it's a big difference between sparring and performing under the bright lights...

Yea the pace Prograis fights at is quite suspect too he fights at a pace that's similar to Matthyese imo so unless his power is really the real deal not to big on Prograis right now.. not dynamic enough..

Imam is tall, lanky, and has a long reach. I knew Imam would hit Ramirez especially on the way in because he likes to step back and load up. Prograis would be giving up a big height and reach advantage to Ramirez, so if he doesnt shoot 1 between the gloves or counter super effectively, Ramirez may just beat him ring post to ring post.

Ramirez vs. Prograis is a lot closer then people think.

Prograis should be favored maybe -140 but I could easily see Ramirez beating him if he weathers the first few rounds. Prograis is the typical super offensive fighter who gets everyone excited but those are the guys who usually lose when they step up.

He has a lot of belief in his power and that's his major weakness, he gets hit a lot.

He's actually almost like a mini Kirkland.

Until proven otherwise i think i'll take Ramirez.
A good chin and a will to win is something you cant teach.
Ramirez has those qualities in spades.

Ramirez will ask a lot of those questions of Prograis.
Whether Prograis answers those questions with flying colors remains to be seen.

For now, my money is on Ramirez.
