Comments Thread For: Parker's Promoter Warns Joshua: Don't Look Ahead To Wilder

David Higgins, promoter for WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker, has warned IBF, IBO, WBA champion Anthony Joshua that he was making a "grave mistake" is he's looking beyond his next fight. In the last few weeks, there has been a lot of talk regarding a potential unification between Joshua and WBC world champion Deontay Wilder. Parker and Joshua will collide on March 31 at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales. Wilder will be ringside for the contest and plans to call out the winner.

            Umm

Joshua punches so hard and fast I think he will break Parkers legs from the shockwave of punches to his face.

As much as Parker will want to stand there, he wont be able to.

It is true that everyone facing AJ is confident.

Can't remember anyone he's got in the ring with who didn't have all an sundry declaring he was the man to beat him from Whyte onwards. Joshua mentioned this himself - he doesn't check their confidence.

Psychologically is that the better way to play it? Or is Wilder's obvious confidence allayed with his power mean his opponents shook more than AJ's. But then with AJ they face the intangible of having to fight in front of 80,000 people who virtually all want them to be KO'd.

It's quite interesting that variable. Especially in that division when they can virtually all be knocked out and conceivably knocked out early.

Since this fight was announced, Parker's camp has been pretty gossipy and trying to play mind games. I guess they feel they need that. AJ was most definitely not intimidated or at a loss for ideas as this guy is stating. And they only time he talks about Wilder is if someone in the media asks him a question. He answers it and moves on. Hearn discusses it on the regular, but Anthony is busy training. The Parker team seems like maybe they're the ones more worried about Joshua/Wilder talks. Maybe they'll pick up on that in time. And btw, anyone know any progress on the Canelo testing investigation? There's been no updates or articles written for a few days now, which I'm finding odd.
