Three division world champion Mikey Garcia (37-0, 30 KOs) believes his upcoming opponent, IBF junior welterweight champion Sergey Lipinets (13-0, 10 KOs), is being underestimated by a lot of critics. The two boxers will collide on Saturday night at the Freeman Coliseum in Dallas, Texas. The contest will be televised by Showtime.

Quality cherry pick from Garcia. Should be a good fight for Garcia. Another club fighter with absolutely no jab, and rushes in with his face. Garcia by 5th round KO

Of course theyre not giving Lipinets much credit because he sucks. The critics are right he has horrible defense, he has decent power but is lacking in everything else including speed, footwork, defense he just all around is one of the worst champions in boxing. Garcia saw this as an easy title in a 4th division. I hope this fight bombs

credit is only given where credit is due. garcia trying to pull the "he has a belt he must be good" bull-**** to sell this crap. he has a comparable resume to josh taylor, jose ramirez, and prograis but they have looked a billion times better than him. those guys are all considered prospects though...oh wait lipinets has a belt i guess he's the real deal according to the con man mkey

Crawford is moving up from 140, where he was weighing close to 160 in the ring, to face Horn, who is a bum with a title. He is moving up to fight for another title in another, higher division. Mikey is moving up from 135, his best weight which he can still make, to fight the only title holder at 140. This happens to be Lipinets. Not much different from Indongo, or Horn. All three are/were paper champs.

Yet one is praised as #1 p4p, for putting on 20 pounds and being much bigger than his opposition, and moving up to take on the 5th to 7th best welterweight. The other is called a cherry picker for fighting the only guy with a title who is also naturally bigger than Mikey.

The hate is sickening. All these bozo's all about hating and rooting against and badmouthing any Haymon fighter is very real. Mikey is fighting the only champ at 140, then moving back down to face Linares (unless Linares punks out, which is very possible) the best at 135, and then moving up to ww, two divisions higher than his best. And say what you want about Broner, but that was a truly dominant performance. To criticize a guy moving up to a division- that is not his best- to face the undisputed champ at that division is pure hate.

Loma is doing the same with Beltran. Crawford won a vacant belt from Dulorme and is now facing the 5th to 7th best ww who also just happens to have a belt. Wilder fought Stiverne to win a belt.

As much as hardcore fans want the best to always fight the best it doesn't happen. Cause Taylor, Ramirez, and Prograis do not have any name recognition or fanbase either and no title. So, yes, titles, even paper titles still help sell tickets and make $$$. Manny Pacquiao in his only fight above 147 ever, fought Margacheato who hadn't fought above 147 for years and years and hadn't fought any real opponent in two years. That was for a title at 154. Canelo won a belt against Liam Smith. It happens with everyone. Two possible opponents look equal or the one without a title looks better, and the one with a title is the one getting picked 99.9% of the time by anyone.

I've been saying this...I smell a rise to the challenge from Limpinets, due to the disrespect.

Also, even though you're repeatedly facing overmatched opponents, the law of averages is going to catch up with you. You're gonna run into "that guy".

They don't give him credit because you (Mikey) are fighting him! If it was Lomachenko challenging for a 140lb. title, it would be a monumental feat of strength! Just do what you do...WIN!
