  • Comments Thread For: Abel Sanchez: Rematch Will Define Career of Golovkin and Canelo

Gennady Golovkin's trainer says the undefeated Kazakh will be ready to go down as "one of the greatest middleweights that ever put on the gloves" by beating Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez. Golovkin and Alvarez step into the ring at the T-Mobile Arena for a rematch on May 5 after their first fight ended in a contentious draw at the same Las Vegas venue last September.

GGG is a damn fool if he goes through with this fight! He should go after BJ Saunders ASAP! If GGG gets robbed, it's his own fault! This is now a pure "business move!" I thought GGG was "not business man?" I knew that was total bull**** 2 years ago! GGG needs that $$$, and he can't get as much without Canelo!

Define career of Canelo? If Canelo loses, then Canelo will still be a superstar, cash cow. Because he moved up in weight, he is not a natural MW.

If Canelo wins then GGG was not at his level, GGG is a bum killer, GGG was exposed.

Nothing will be changed for Canelo.

Yeah he's just taking the biggest money fight, and you can't really blame him, he's coming to the end. Gotta pay the mortgage and put the kids through college. Unlike politicians, these guys ain't got a job waiting for them at Morgan Stanley.

In the eyes of some you are right. But really, if Canelo can't beat 36 year old Golovkin, he's just a cash cow who's best win was Trout.
