  • Comments Thread For: Deontay Wilder vs. Luis Ortiz: Stats & Stakes

It's an unofficial heavyweight final four. Maybe. The last time the heavyweight division had the game board set this perfectly, the unofficial part came into play as soon as the round of four was over. Lennox Lewis defeated Razor Ruddock in 1992 just weeks before Rid**** Bowe won the heavyweight championship from Evander Holyfield.

If the fight isn't fixed then Ortiz wins by KO.

Coward Bowe ducked Lewis just like coward Wilder is ducking Joshua!

Interesting pick but then you see he's got more wrong than right this year...
My pick is Wilder, Ortiz is too old and slow.
Hopefully AJ wins too so before too long we get to see the fight most fans want.

The judges are all Americans and on Wilder´s side. He just has to stay on his feet the entire fight and Wilder won. Ortiz can only win by stoppage.

You're taking Wilder? Wow. What courage...there's a reason Wilder is -325 favorite.

I've also got Ortiz because I think he has the tools to win. Expect a fairly slow start and for Ortiz to pick things up late 2nd or early 3rd. Watch for Ortiz to get inside using a high guard and head movement and dedicated work to the body with mixed-in uppercuts

Expect Wilder to literally run for his life. Thats why just 214 pounds. He is afraid that Ortiz cuts off the ring and ****s Wilder in the corner.

A sign we’ve had some really good fights.

Yes. Deontay is going to stick and move and try and work exclusively behind the jab and maintain range. Deontay will have to be careful not to overextend (like he always does) and close his openings after combos (which he doesnt normally do).

I expect Deontay to try and make it boring and Ortiz to try and make it exciting.

Props to Deontay for taking the fight given he had easier options AND the PED scandal. May the best man win
