Comments Thread For: Golovkin: Judging, HBO Commentary Not Fair for 1st Canelo Fight

Five months have passed since Gennady Golovkin settled for a much-debated draw with Canelo Alvarez. The unbeaten middleweight champion's opinion still hasn't changed. Golovkin thinks he was wronged September 16, not only by two judges, but by HBO's broadcasting team.

GGG is becoming aware of how ****they)) operate. ****Kellerman)) has exposed himself the last year or so. HBO and ESPN should find another boxing analyst. Max is garbage.

Jim lampley in particular is always biased for the hbo A side. He's not even a little bit discrete about it. Especially on the fight game.

HBO are dinosaurs and have become outdated. I feel Kellerman is getting ruder with age, his post fight interviews are generally distasteful and condescending. He should go back to his ****-Hop.

Hope he (GGG) trains hard for the next one. I would imagine on some level, Canelo maybe feels (which he 100% couldn’t admit that in the post fight—no one should) that Golovkin maybe got the better of the first fight. So you know he’ll be training with an ambition. GGG had better, too.

Wasn't Jim calling punches that never landed that GGG threw?

HBO commentating is the worse, and it's sad because they arguably have the best well rounded commentators but their bias is sickening. Sometimes they get downright disrespectful and try to paint certain obvious narratives for the uninitiated.

I'm always shocked when I hear Joe Rogan and the UFC team. No bias, calling everything down the middle, and never resorting to disrespecting the fighter or the viewers as HBO tends to do.
