Because he sells more tickets and garners more viewership than 99% of the boxers in this country. Let's say he ends up selling 12,500 tickets next Saturday and breaks the all time boxing attendance record at Barclays, sure it's nothing compared to the numbers Canelo can do, but it's still better than almost everybody else. Kovalev is going to draw 3,000 people the same night. Ward vs. Kovalev II only sold 6,000 tickets. So once again, as always, PBC fighters are held to a double standard.

Dude cant sell out his own hometown
Sell outs are irrelevant. If a fight sells out, it just means it should have been held in a larger venue. Tickets sold and dollars generated are much more important than whether a fight sold out. "SOLD OUT!" is just something that impresses the public because the public is illogical.

I have to agree with this.
Old example but when Thomas Hearns fought Roberto Duran which was a very appealing fight,it was not sold out and even lost money from what I heard. I'm sure thee are plenty of other examples but that one came to mind.

LMAO, this muhfucca right here. I'm a fan of the sport itself, I don't fanboy over muhfuccas like you do.. But let's talk the Povetkin situation, he didn't fail a test. He tested positive for a miniscule amount of meldonium (which is heart medication for fuccing sakes) and didn't have enough in his system to constitute a failed test. It had been banned the year before so he still had trace amounts in his system.

Showtime never even picked up the fight, so they had to have inside info that something funny was about to happen.

But let's say Povetkin was taking meldonium at the time, so what? Didn't Wlad travel to Russia and beat the **** out of Povetkin while meldonium was still legal? Thought so.

It's known Deontay was scared to fight Povetkin in Russia. Deal with it.

Some drugs aren’t banned because they enhance performance — but if certain athletes are using them, they’re suspect.

17 percent of samples taken from 4,316 Russian athletes between October 2014 and February 2015 had traces of meldonium

So 17% of Russia's top athletes have a heart condition?!?

It was popular in Russia before it got banned. They would it take like the way muhfuccas do supplements here. Same thing Sharapova got clipped for. It's just heart medication.

I'd say Deontay's metal rods in his fists are more performance-enhancing than meldonium, but I'll let y'all tell it.
