  • Comments Thread For: Thurman: Shawn Porter, Danny Garcia Are Real Salty Right Now!

WBC, WBA welterweight champion Keith Thurman (28-0, 22 KOs) may technically have back to back mandatory defenses in his future. Thurman is scheduled to make a voluntary defense on May 19th at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The opponent has yet to be determined. Thurman has been out of the ring since winning a twelve round split decision over Danny Garcia last March to unify the welterweight belts.

None of us have gone through elbow surgery; keyboard warriors won't pay his bills if he sabotages his career by fighting a P4P fighter fresh off a surgery. Thurman's a smart dude and he's going about this the right way. There's a reason he's undefeated (and will stay undefeated for a long time) and in everyone's mouth when half of y'all complaining on here won't get anywhere in life. Sad truth.

Thurman needs to STFU with the politics and go train somewhere. Porter and Garcia should fight Spence or each other

Pretty sure some of us have, and Thurman has come close to getting KO by journeymen when he was considered fit, making excuses then telling lies and repeating this act in 2018.

Thurman is the A side no matter who it is and has been a Showtime metric delivery for a long time. He won his fights with Porter and Garcia. He can do as he pleases and should be given the benefit of doubt to recover his shoulder.

People don’t realize the real ducking are Porter and Garcia not calling out Spence. It is Thurman’s mandate to face Spence anyways, but not now as he’s been given time to come back. Even Spence knows this, and the fact that Spence wants it now proves he acknowledges the vulnerability of Thurman, plus Spence will continue making money. As Thurman said, if Spence is the truth, he ain’t going anywhere, so everything is fine.

Man forget Garcia and Porter, we need to get Vargas to call out Spence. Change it up. The IBF opportunity is there, and Thurman makes his point rather rationally, the guys he beat want another pay and less risk.

                Thurman is a Gee!

Thurman is a cool dude but seems that he does not want to fight Spence. In fact, no one seems to want to fight Spence, which is a shame. I wish Duran was around fighting because that guy would fight anyone. Porter said that he is not interested and Garcia is not mentioning his name.
