  • Comments Thread For: Chocolatito Return Pushed Back To May, on Canelo-Golovkin?

Carlos Blandon, manager of former four division world champion Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez, says his boxer's return to the ring is being pushed back to the month of May. Initially the fight was going to land on a date in April, but now it's being pushed back a little and may even land on the undercard to the highly anticipated rematch between Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin, which takes place on May 5th.

Give us a damn name! we already know the opponent is going to be a can! I don't want to see Gonzalez on no Canelo-GGG II. vs. a bum! Get your priorities straight Blandon! 'Chocolatito' should of been already scheduled a fight in Japan and lined up for Canelo-GGG II. against a solid opponent!

Good. You're starting to realize your fighter has lost that fire and wasn't ready - was on the verge of getting sparked again. Take all the time you need until he gets his act together.

And I just noticed - WTF?

      What in the hell for?

First fight - knocked on his ass, bullied to a loss.
Second fight - didn't even win a round, knocked out spark cold Amir Khan style.

Why the HELL would anyone consider putting him back in there?

He needs to retire I don't see one top 6-7 guys at 115 he can beat anymore. And 118 is not an option either(no real weak champs).Great fighter in his day but I cant see him winning with anybody of note anymore. With some guys(esp clean)it goes fast and it don't come back.

Boy Dorticos showed some real ba lls and even chin to get up from 1st KD.And that's in 12th round where he had never been.Gass can really punch I hope Dorticos can come back with same confidence and desire.

He'll be aight, one loss is not the end. I like to see him fight Breidis -- two ex-champs in a eliminator would be dope.

Think its a certainty Yafai/Gonzalez will be the fight after. Yafai is ****ing about waiting for him, and if Gonzalez is fighting on this card they'll both be fighting on the same day.

One loss like that CAN be the end.It up to his mental makeup I hope he can put it past him.100% agree on Bredis fight they have ALL proven to be the best in div and winner would deff deserve a shot at unfied champ. But I got a bad feeling that 3 of these guys will be at heavy next year this time. They make very good cruisers(the winner maybe great)but they will not find same success at heavy imo.But love that idea for fight losing to another top 5 guy should be no big deal.

lol, I was thinking about Nica Concepcion -- Mismatchroom might want to build something off that : both men have a 'common' opponent type narrative. It might be a fun fight but a bit dangerous for Roman as Nica can take a beating and swing for the fences -- if he catches Choco who knows?
