Comments Thread For: Sullivan Barrera: I Need My 'A-Game' To Beat Dmitry Bivol

Top light heavyweight contender Sullivan Barrera is working hard in the second half of his training camp for his March 3rd HBO televised clash against WBA light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol. The 35-year-old former Cuban amateur standout has been on quite a run. After losing a unanimous decision to the now retired former pound-for-pound king Andre Ward, Barrera has put together a four fight win streak against the likes of Vyacheslav Shabranskyy, Paul "Pay Per View" Parker, Joe Smith Jr. and the hard hitting Felix Valera.

And Pacquiao dominated Cotto and Floyd had a tough fight. I don’t use those triangle theories

For some reason I think the Ward fight has prepared Barrera to top Bivol! 🤔

              how?

              two completely different styles.

Ward did not have a chance of knocking out Barrera.... Bivol on the other hand does.

I would tend to agree with you. I think this is a bigger test than Bivol fanatics might acknowledge. And Barrera is a tough out for anyone at light heavy, but I expect Bivol to win by UD. Bivol's jab is the story of the fight. But that wipeout of Trent Boradhurst and closer-than-the-cards win over Valero leaves some questions about Bivol. I'm sure I'll take some hits for it, but Bivol's destruction of Cedric Agnew looked like his most impressive victory to date. I like the kid, and I'm curious to see what he can do as he moves up in class. But he's still fairly untested.

Getting Bivol in the ring with Beterbiev...that's the fight.

yup. Jean Pascal beats Chad Dawson, Chad Dawson beats Hopkins easy, Hopkins beats Pascal.
