Comments Thread For: Lucas Matthysse: If I Would Have Lost - I Would Have Retired

WBA 'regular' welterweight champion Lucas Matthysse (39-4, 36 KOs), 35 years old, is very motivated to land a very big fight in the near future. Last month, Matthysse finally achieved his dream of getting a world title - when he knocked out undefeated Tewa Kiram in the eight round at The Forum in Los Angeles, California.

Poor guy. As soon as you fight a top 5 guy (top 5 in the publics eye) you will get your wish.
I actually like LM but he was one of the most overrated 140lbs fighters I had ever seen. He lost everytime he stepped up. He lost some that could of went either way but he left those fights on the table by waitimg too long. Hes a good fighter but way overrated.

He's not an absolute champion. Just a WBA "regular" champion.

With all due respect it's probably more than you or I have ever achieved, how about we just show some respect.

Look, he is claiming that he is now an absolute champion but that is not correct.

Keith Thurman is the WBA's "super" champion. Matthysse is the WBA "regular" champion.

            Facts are facts.

              Exactly.

              He has the paper title.

              The real champion is Thurman.

Check his record, he's beaten some great fighters, Vivian Harris, Humberto Soto, John Molina, Ruslan Provodnikov, Lamont Peterson, he earned that belt. Cong**** to Lucas.
