  • Comments Thread For: Petit vs. Kasmi Ends in Violence After Riot Erupts - Video

The Main Event 5 staged by MK Event headed by Malamine Kon went ahead last night at the Palais de Marcel Cerdan in Levallois Perret. All went well until the lightweight fight between Marvin Petit and Samir Kasmi with the WBA Continental title at stake. Reports vary but there appears to have been turmoil between fans even before the fight and while Petit and Kasmi were fighting in the ring - and then an almost full scale riot erupted outside of the ropes.

Either Boxrec or this article is wrong. Boxrec says Petit Knocked Kasmi out in the 7th round and violence erupted after the fight. I would trust Boxrec over this article. http://boxrec.com/en/boxer/524773

I NEVER trust Boxrec. They take rumors from websites and post fights to their schedule that are never finalized, never sourcing the information either, and then remove the info when the fight falls out. You would think a "credible" source would wait for a deal to get done before actually finalizing it to a schedule.

Lets not forget how they were exposed years ago when some of their "working for free" editors were getting paid to fabricate records on there to make overseas mismatches.

Regarding the riot, I saw a few articles stating that the decision was never rendered. The riot broke out when the guy was either dropped or stopped. From what I read, the supporters of both rushed the ring and all-out violence broke out - but the fighting was taking place during the whole fight.

To add to that, boxrec has a completely fake person like Ali Raymi posted, with a completely fake record. They don't verify ****. Who knows how many more boxers on there never even existed lol.

How easy do you think it is to get verification from Yemen? Boxrec is basically going on an honor system with these fighters from these underdeveloped countries. Pretty sure their official record keeping isn't as organized as the US

Exactly. If the "Yemen Boxing Federation" was providing fraudulent results/accepting the results of sham fights, it's not Boxrec's job to investigate/dispute that.
