Comments Thread For: Joseph Diaz: I Want To Beat Gary Russell, Unify 126 By 2019

Joseph Diaz has already secured his shot at the WBC featherweight championship, and he hopes the World Boxing Council (WBC) will ensure that their champion, Gary Russell Jr., will fight him by this coming May. In fact, Russell Jr. should be facing Diaz in the upcoming months but he decided to take an interim-fight, according to the WBC. 'JoJo' will do the same when he faces former world champion Victor Terrazas (38-4-2, 21 KOs) on February 22 at the Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio.

I dont know about this because the WBC is very protective of the PBC umbrella (protecting boxing cowards)....the WBC has been an enabler of cherry pickers, duckers and blowhards

Yeah right. Gary Russell is with Al Haymon. He'll probably drop the belt or some ****. Or just delay for three years like Adonis Stevenson. But good for Jo Jo Diaz for wanting to fight the best.

A prime Russell would own Diaz. Diaz is flat footed and relatively slow. Loma killed prime Russell.

Make no mistake gents if anyone is gonna finally take that belt from the inactive Russle it’s Jojo. Jojo has been on a mission being active something Russel hasn’t done in what almost 4 years. He’s been inactive and fighting mandos and has been looking horrible. He’s been getting payed to spar and not fighting and is what 30 now along with inactivity. His heart probably isn’t in the sport anymore and he’s probably on the decline all things considered while Jojo is just getting better and better. Gary has speed but Jojo has exceptional timing and that beats speed. I foresee Jojo taking that belt from Gary and finally defending it and unifying like a champ should be doing. Been watching Jojo since he was a young prospect he’s got it. #WARDIAZ

Russell will snap Diaz' head up in the air with some of his shots. Russell is faster and hits harder and no doubt will beat Diaz.

Russel is a disgrace of a champions. He got 1/4th of a Championship and stopped forcing it. No unification and even 1 fight a year. Disgraceful.
