Comments Thread For: Arum: Lomachenko's Father Must Approve 140 For Pacquiao Bout

Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum is very much on board with making a catch-weight showdown between eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao (59-7-2, 37 KOs) and WBO super featherweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko (10-1, 8 KOs). Earlier this week, Pacquiao did an interview in the Philippines where he made statements claiming that his team was actively negotiating a potential fight with Lomachenko, at 140-pounds.

He will fight Paquioa at 140 but won’t fight Mikey at 135, all these promoters are a bunch of scared bums, Arum, Golden Girl, and the Fraud Brit Hearn. Paquioa should of been left Top Rank, now he is being used as a Step Child, a shame!!!!

if mikey was still with bob then he would be fighting mikey. but since mikey is not with bob, their not gonna make that fight.

their making pac fight with loma because bob controls both of them. he's already planning fights ahead forcing loma's pops to approve. this fools brazy.

I think Pac dropping the extra 5-7 lbs will actually affect his performance negatively at this stage and age. Fight seems unlikely to happen but it would be awesome and I really hope it does - soon.

Make the fight happen already let Loma get a 135 fight then step up to 140 for Pac at the end of the year. Loma is going to win anyway he has the juice now. Bob is just using Pac, its said.

Pac fight is fading in interest for me. At this point i want him to retire or fight someone weak KO them and ride off into the sunset. Personally the remarks Easter Jr. said has gotten me more interested in that fight. He's much taller and lengthier than anyone else Loma has fought in the pros. Not to mention he can crack, it'd be a very good scalp under Loma's belt IF he can win and vice versa.

Where are the journalists doing their jobs? The real question to ask at this point is will Manny's fight in April be at 140 or 147? The Loma-Manny fight would be made way better if Pacquiao fought at 135 (or 140) in April and showed increased power at that weight and got a good win. If Pacquiao could knock out Linares at 135 or 140, or Easter, or even Ray Beltran, it would make the Loma fight way bigger because Loma is smaller than all those guys, so if they couldnt take Pacquiao's punch at 135 or 140, will Loma be able to? That is the hook to sell the fight, but for it to work, Manny needs to fight these guys at 135 or 140 in April, not fight some random dude at 147 again.
