Comments Thread For: Trainer: Parker Knows His Place in History at Stake With Joshua

The trainer of Kiwi heavyweight boxer Joseph Parker has encouraged his WBO champion to embrace the challenge of a "career-defining" bout against Briton Anthony Joshua in March. Kevin Barry is set to lead Parker through the toughest pre-fight camp of the South Aucklander's career in Las Vegas in the coming weeks.

He knows that he is the dealers lucky number 21 - AJ's 21st fight and 21st knockout.

That comes with the territory, but Parker didn't push for this fight to sell his strap.

He wants to conquer the challenge of knowing to be the best, he has to beat the best.

        As it stands, that's AJ...

LOL, AJ faced some giants of the HW class, Whyte, old Wlad, Martin and Takam.

Neither guy has done enough for this to be a historic fight. Good matchup and that is basically it. Unfortunately the lineal champ is a recovering addict and there is not telling when he is coming back and in what shape he will be in

Parker can easily take AJ 12 rounds and get the decision, barring home cooked reffing and judges.

Though I can easily imagine another bull**** stoppage after a last gasp AJ flurry that would leave him gassed for the final 2 championship rounds...Ala Takam!

..and make no mistake, AJ is there to be hit and hurt!

There's a long list of bums that have dropped joshua. Parker can easily do the same.
