Comments Thread For: Bivol: Hard to Tell From Two Rounds If Kovalev All the Way Back

Dmitry Bivol watched from a ringside seat as Sergey Kovalev annihilated Vyacheslav Shabranskyy. Kovalev obviously was impressive in dropping Shabranskyy three times and stopping him in the second round of their November 25 bout in The Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York. Bivol isn't certain, though, that Kovalev's knockout of Shabranskyy (19-2, 16 KOs) means that the hard-hitting Russian is back to being the same fighter he was before Andre Ward stopped him in the eighth round of their light heavyweight championship rematch June 17 in Las Vegas.

that's true..he needs to be put in the same position ward put him in those two fights..how he responds to that situation again will tell whether he's truly back..shabransky style was made for him..no defence, just picked him apart with one-two's and a right hand up top

Bivol has a poor understanding of the martial art of boxing if he could not tell that Kovalev was ruined by Andre 'S.O.G' Ward ; Dre would of seen all the errors Sergay made vs. Sharbumsky, like me. Observe.

bivol breaks the red curtain unspoken rules..

they never seem to question each other..even when kov and ggg has that sparring session media scuffle they were like no we are friends lol

bivol coming out with guns blazing like...FOH U ONLY FOUGHT A BUM AND WENT 2 ROUNDS...

but in order to be considered shot or weaker u'd have to think that kov today wouldnt whoop the 2 washed up fighters that he beat...pascal and bhop

There is NO proof YET that Kov is done.Anybody who says they can tell from last fight is trying to act like he knows more then he does.I think it will be VERY hard for Kov to come back after being stopped as it is for most "monster"type fighters. But the 2 rounds with Shappy did not prove anything other then Kov can still beat a top 15 type fighter. We will see once he is tested vs a top 5ish type fighter and that's not who he is fightin next.So we wait but with his age he better not wait TO LONG or father time will finish him

2 rounds is EXACTLY how we know Kovalev is back. He 'krushed' a competent boxer.

We have to first be honest though and say that Kovalev was never gone in the first place. He performed better than most expected in the first Ward fight but people want to say "alcohol doe" because the rematch proved that Ward was the better boxer. Always some idiots out there that want to pretend their guy only lost because of some tragic circumstance. Boxers we like never lose to the better man.
