Ronald Gavril expected more when he encountered David Benavidez on September 8. The undefeated Benavidez had knocked out 17 of his first 18 opponents prior to their super middleweight title fight, including 10 straight. Once Gavril withstood some early difficulty, though, the Romanian contender realized he could take the hard-hitting Benavidez's power.

Benavidez has been sparring with Gvozdyk. I think he beats Gavril much wider in the rematch.

Had Gavril beating Benavidez in the RBR thread. That being said Benavidez learned a lot from that fight and will probably beat him cleanly this time.

I had a high opinion on Benavidez prior to that fight. I still do but some vulnerabilities definitely got exposed by Gavril.

I had the first fight a draw in all honesty. Gavril is tough as nails.

Benavidez wants to make a huge statement and leave no doubt this time around. He's training like a beast.

I thought Benavidez won clearly but at the same time i can see how someone has a draw with the kd.

Styles make fights. Just as people were overreacting after he demolished the simple come forward brute Medina, they are overreacting about his edging out a close tough fight with Gavril. Watch Benavides fight with Douglin or Francy Ntetu or whatever his name is, he didn’t demolish those guys the way he did Medina. Benavidez is only 19-20 yrs old and still learning as he goes. Gavril is a tough fighter, the best Benavidez has faced. It was close. I think a rematch was certainly warranted. But exposed, no. People on here throw around words like exposed and hype job way too much
