  • Comments Thread For: Trainer Warns: Tyson Fury Has Too Much Skill for Anthony Joshua

Ben Davison, the new head trainer for former heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (25-0, 18 KOs), believes his fighter would have too much of everything for the current kingpin, Anthony Joshua (20-0, 20 KOs), who holds the WBA, IBO, IBF world titles. Fury parted ways with his career trainer, uncle Peter Fury, and brought Davison on board to prepare for a planned ring return in April.

Probably so, but not fighting for two years could be a real killer at the heavyweight level where one punch can change everything.

Yeah its a special skill to be able to get coked up and still manage to properly chew down a takeaway. Something AJ couldn't do, so I suppose technically he's right.

Trainer says his fighter is better than opposition.

Honestly, I am very disappointed and underwhelmed by Tyson Fury's choice of trainer. This guy is a complete amateur. Gets bullied on IFL TV videos by no marks like Kid Galahad. Tyson just constantly takes the piss out of him. Really doesn't bode well if there is a lack of discipline from the outset with the new trainer.

Very true. It's never a good thing to see a fighter treating his trainer like a child.

The only training video I’ve seen of Fury with his new trainer is him goofing around making fun of lifting weights (to take a dig at AJ for lifting), but what it all boils down to is he’s not focused. He wouldn’t dare make a serious gym video cos he probably lifts a fraction of AJ or Wilder and his workouts would look more like middle aged boxercise classes, because he’s so obscenely overweight. Unless he gets back in the ring and proves it, I’m not a believer any more

Fury hasn’t the power to do shyt, his last KO was against Cunningham in 2012 when he had to sucker punch him to get the stoppage a fight that should have been ruled a NC, his last TKO came against Hammer who he was tabbed for using steroids and the result was set a NC and resulted in a two year ban for doping violations.

Fury against Wlad when The Ukrainian had his back to him Fury literally had a free shot and still couldn’t put him away instead he showed his ill discipline with his wild long flailing limbs connecting with precisely jack shyt ! The one shot he did hit him with did absolutely nothing and the cut he opened on Wlad early in the fifth with his head looked no worse 7 full rounds later !

But yeh I’ll agree he has power if that’s what you want me to do....
