Comments Thread For: Stevenson-Jack To Land in March, Alvarez-Gvozdyk To Purse Bid

Earlier this month, World Boxing Council President Mauricio Sulaiman explained that his organization had mapped out a plan to get the light heavyweight division in order. The organization had already sanctioned a world title fight between WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson (29-1, 24 KOs) and once-beaten challenger Badou Jack (22-1-2, 13 KOs), who moved up from super middleweight last year.

I could see this going either way, Stevenson or Jack by KO. Both guys a bit chinny.

Oh Alvarez is gonna lose the pursebid and has to fight on a disadvantage. Badou Jack TKO 11, and Gvozdyk TKO at 8.

Kind of hypocritical from Showtime their unwillingness to make and pay for Stevenson-Alvarez fight, but they want to go to a purse bid to fight for the Gvzdyk fight. They should be quiet and let ESPN be the network. Also, if Alvarez loses to Gvozdyk, Yvon Michel better expect not only Beterbiev's departure, but Alvarez' too. He should feel ashamed of himself for not pushing hard for that mandatory fight. Hopefully that disgraceful promoter pays for it. Canadian boxing fans are tired of him.

Its strange to see a Toprank fighter ( Oleksandr Gvozdyk with Bob Arum) with plans to win a WBC world title. Not surprise its going too purse bid ; initially I thought this would be a double header -- what was I thinking? I never took the promoters into account.

Stevenson? I almost forgot about him.
Badou Jack by KO in a long grueling fight.

I swear on Badou Jack's dentist that he won't win this fight. You want to put your dentist on the line too?
